Ariel Gail
Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds an Distinguished Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely acclaimed for pioneering the study of witness testimony by children and the eyewitness memory within legal contexts. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded several prizes and grants. She has advised many administrations and agencies across the world about policies as well as research related to the treatment of child victims of the law by the system. She serves as consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has memberships with numerous professional organizations, like the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a member of the Psychonomics Society, American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was the president of the The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division and Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Family and Child policy and practice.
